PRESENTATION

In the spirit of a publication combining both high-level and popular science, L’Atlas Bleu addresses a broad readership: maritime and coastal stakeholders in the broadest sense, decision-makers and managers of the environment and industry, researchers, lecturers, secondary school teachers, students, and, more generally, any readers interested in learning more about these remarkable places at the interface between land and sea.

L’Atlas Bleu offers a cartographic representation of knowledge about the ocean planet drawing on a range of themes and scales of analysis based on geographical expertise. Its ambition is to produce and share a constantly updated scientific portrait of the world’s seas and coastal areas – remarkable spaces, but ones that are more vulnerable and under pressure than ever.

The journal is managed by the LETG laboratory (Littoral, Environnement, Télédétection, Géomatique), a joint research unit (Unité Mixte de Recherche 6554) of the CNRS and the universities of Brest, Nantes and Rennes 2, with financial support from the CNRS and Nantes Université
